End Time Events

The Detailed Eschatological Timeline

1. The Rapture of the Church

  • Scriptures: 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52

  • Event: Believers in Christ are caught up to meet the Lord in the air.

    • Jesus Brings Back Souls of Believers: When Jesus returns during the Rapture, He will bring with Him the souls of believers who have died.

    • The Dead in Christ Rise First: These souls will be the first to receive their glorified, heavenly bodies.

    • Living Believers Transformed: After the dead in Christ receive their new bodies, the believers who are alive will be transformed and receive their heavenly bodies.

    • Meeting the Lord: Both groups will then be caught up together to meet the Lord in the air.

2. The Judgment Seat of Christ

  • Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 5:10; Romans 14:10-12; 1 Corinthians 3:11-15

  • Event: Believers are judged by Christ to receive rewards based on their works.

    • Explanation:

      • This judgment is for believers only and occurs after the Rapture.

      • The purpose is not to determine salvation (which is by faith in Jesus Christ) but to assess and reward the works and faithfulness of believers.

      • Believers will receive rewards for their good deeds and faithful service, or suffer loss for what was done with wrong motives or not according to God’s will.

    • Timing: This judgment occurs in heaven after the Rapture and before the Second Coming of Christ.

3. The Tribulation (7 Years)

  • Scriptures: Daniel 9:27; Revelation 6-19

  • Event: A period of seven years of intense trouble on earth, divided into two halves.

    • Judgments During the Tribulation: During this time, there will be 7 Seal Judgments, 7 Trumpet Judgments, and 7 Bowl Judgments.

      • The Scroll and the Seals: There will be a scroll in heaven that only Jesus, the Lamb of God, can open. This scroll will have 7 seals, and each time the Lamb breaks a seal, a judgment will occur on earth. The intensity of the judgments will progressively increase.

        • First Six Seals (Revelation 6:1-17): These include the rise of the Antichrist, war, famine, death, martyrdom, and cosmic disturbances.

        • Seventh Seal (Revelation 8:1): The seventh seal introduces the next series of judgments—the Trumpet Judgments.

      • The Trumpet Judgments: There will be 7 angels, and each time an angel blows his trumpet, a judgment will happen on earth.

        • First Six Trumpets (Revelation 8:6-9:21): These involve natural disasters, demonic plagues, and more intense afflictions.

        • Seventh Trumpet (Revelation 11:15-19): The seventh trumpet introduces the final series of judgments—the Bowl Judgments.

      • The Bowl Judgments: The final and most severe judgments are the Bowl Judgments, where God pours out His wrath upon the earth.

        • Seven Bowls (Revelation 16): These judgments include painful sores, the sea turning to blood, rivers turning to blood, intense heat, darkness, the Euphrates drying up, and a final devastating earthquake.

Rise of the Antichrist

  • Scriptures: 2 Thessalonians 2:6-8; Revelation 6:1-2; Daniel 9:27

  • Explanation:

    • Restraining by the Holy Spirit: Currently, the Antichrist is being restrained by the Holy Spirit, preventing him from being revealed and rising to power.

    • Spirit of the Antichrist: Though the Antichrist himself is restrained, the spirit of the Antichrist is already at work in the world, influencing and promoting false teachings, lawlessness, and opposition to Christ (1 John 4:3).

    • After the Rapture: After the Rapture, the Holy Spirit’s restraining influence will be removed, allowing the Antichrist to be revealed and begin his rise to power.

    • Antichrist's Role: The Antichrist, also known as the man of lawlessness, will establish a peace covenant with many for seven years (Daniel 9:27), marking the beginning of the Tribulation.

Jewish Acceptance of the Antichrist

  • Rejection of Jesus: Many Jewish people have historically rejected Jesus as their Messiah. This continues today among many Jews who still await a messianic figure.

  • Acceptance of the Antichrist: When the Antichrist comes, he will be accepted by many Jews as their Messiah because he will make a covenant with them and allow them to sacrifice animals in the rebuilt Temple (Daniel 9:27).

  • Covenant and Sacrifices: The Antichrist will confirm a covenant with Israel for seven years, allowing the continuation of animal sacrifices according to the Old Covenant practices.

  • Breaking the Covenant: At the midpoint of the Tribulation (3.5 years), the Antichrist will break this covenant, stop the sacrifices, and set up the abomination of desolation in the Temple (Daniel 9:27; Matthew 24:15).

Abomination of Desolation

  • Scriptures: Daniel 9:27; Matthew 24:15; Revelation 13:14-15

  • Explanation: The abomination of desolation refers to the Antichrist setting up an image or statue of himself in the Temple of God, declaring himself to be God. This act of desecration will be a major turning point in the Tribulation.

  • Significance: This event will signal to the Jews and others that the Antichrist is not the true Messiah. It will lead to intense persecution and the Great Tribulation.

First Half (3.5 Years)

  • Seals 1-6 (Revelation 6:1-17): Includes the rise of the Antichrist, war, famine, death, martyrdom, and cosmic disturbances.

  • 144,000 Sealed (Revelation 7:1-8)

Second Half (3.5 Years) - The Great Tribulation

  • Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21): The last 3.5 years of the Tribulation are known as the Great Tribulation. During this time, the severity of judgments and hardships will increase significantly.

    • Trumpet Judgments (Revelation 8-9): Seven judgments involving natural disasters, demonic plagues, and more intense afflictions.

    • Bowl Judgments (Revelation 16): Seven last plagues, culminating in Armageddon. These judgments involve painful sores, the sea turning to blood, rivers turning to blood, intense heat, darkness, the Euphrates drying up, and a final devastating earthquake.

The Unholy Trinity

  • Explanation: The devil, the Antichrist, and the False Prophet form an unholy trinity that seeks to mimic the Holy Trinity of God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

    • Satan: The devil is the head of the unholy trinity, seeking to usurp God's position and authority.

    • Antichrist: The Antichrist receives his power and authority from Satan and seeks to mimic Jesus Christ. The Bible says that the Antichrist will appear to suffer a fatal wound and be healed, deceiving many. Revelation 13:3 in the NASB Bible says, “I saw one of his heads as if it had been fatally wounded, and his fatal wound was healed. And the whole earth was amazed and followed after the beast.” The NLT Bible says, “I saw that one of the heads of the beast seemed wounded beyond recovery but the fatal wound was healed! The whole world marveled at this miracle and gave allegiance to the beast.” (Revelation 13:3).

    • False Prophet: The False Prophet performs signs and wonders to support the Antichrist, mimicking the Holy Spirit's role in pointing people to Jesus (Revelation 13:11-15).

The Mark of the Beast

  • Scriptures: Revelation 13:16-18

  • Explanation: The Antichrist will enforce a mark, known as the mark of the beast, on the right hand or forehead of individuals. This mark will be required for buying and selling.

    • Comparison with God's Seal: Just as God seals the 144,000 on their foreheads, the Antichrist will mark his followers, mimicking God's actions.

    • Significance: Taking the mark of the beast signifies allegiance to the Antichrist and rejection of God. Those who refuse the mark will face persecution but will remain faithful to God. If a person receives the mark of the beast, then they can no longer be saved (Revelation 14:9-11). At the Second Coming of Christ, those who have received the mark of the beast will also be thrown into the lake of fire that God has prepared for the devil and his demons (Revelation 14:9-11; 19:20).

Persecution of Those Who Refuse to Worship the Statue

  • Scriptures: Revelation 13:15

  • Explanation: The Antichrist, through the False Prophet, will enforce the worship of his image. Those who refuse to worship the statue will be put to death.

4. The Battle of Armageddon

  • Scriptures: Revelation 16:16; 19:11-21

  • Event: The final battle where Jesus Christ defeats the Antichrist and his armies.

5. The Second Coming of Christ

  • Scriptures: Revelation 19:11-16; Zechariah 14:4

  • Event: Jesus returns to earth with His saints, defeats the Antichrist, and establishes His millennial kingdom.

    • His Saints: The saints refer to the church—all believers who were caught up in the Rapture. This group includes all believers who have died and those who were alive at the time of the Rapture and were transformed.

    • Participation in the Battle of Armageddon:

      • Scriptural Basis:

        • Revelation 19:11-16: This passage describes Jesus returning with the armies of heaven, which are understood to be His saints.

        • Revelation 19:14: "The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean."

      • Role in the Battle:

        • Jesus Leads the Battle: Jesus Himself leads the battle of Armageddon, and it is His power that ultimately defeats the Antichrist and his forces. The emphasis is on His victory and His spoken word bringing about the defeat of His enemies.

        • Saints as Witnesses: The saints accompany Jesus as His army, but the scriptures do not specify that they engage directly in the combat. Instead, they witness Jesus’ triumph over evil.

      • Summary:

        • Yes, the saints returning with Jesus include the church—those caught up in the Rapture.

        • Participation: The saints are part of the heavenly army and accompany Jesus, but the victory is accomplished through Jesus’ power and authority, not through physical combat by the saints.

6. The Judgment of the Nations (Sheep and Goats)

  • Scriptures: Matthew 25:31-46

  • Event: Jesus judges the nations based on how they treated His brethren.

    • Explanation:

      • The term "brethren" in this context can be understood as referring to Jesus' brethren, which could include Jewish people and believers who were present during the Tribulation period.

      • The judgment will be based on how people treated these brethren, indicating their actions and behavior towards them during the difficult times of the Tribulation.

      • This event happens after the Second Coming of Christ, at the end of the Tribulation and before the Millennium.

      • The "sheep" are those who showed kindness to Jesus' brethren and will enter the Millennial Kingdom. The "goats" are those who did not and will be cast away.

7. The Binding of Satan

  • Scriptures: Revelation 20:1-3

  • Event: Satan is bound and thrown into the Abyss for 1,000 years.

8. The Millennium (1,000-Year Reign of Christ)

  • Scriptures: Revelation 20:4-6

  • Event: Jesus reigns on earth for 1,000 years, a period of peace and righteousness.

    • Fulfillment of God's Promises: During the Millennium, God will fulfill all His promises to Israel and believers.

    • Two Types of People in the Millennium:

      1. The Church (Born Again Believers and Tribulation Martyrs):

        • Heavenly Bodies: These individuals will have received their glorified, heavenly bodies at the Rapture and the first resurrection.

        • Reigning with Christ: They will reign with Christ and will not marry or have children, as they will be like the angels in this respect (Matthew 22:30).

      2. Survivors of the Tribulation:

        • Earthly Bodies: These individuals will have survived the Tribulation and will enter the Millennium in their natural, earthly bodies.

        • Procreation: They will live normal earthly lives, including marrying and having children (Isaiah 65:20-25). Their descendants will populate the earth during the Millennium.

    • Conditions During the Millennium:

      • No Satanic Influence: During the Millennium, Satan will be bound and locked up in the Abyss, preventing him from deceiving the nations (Revelation 20:1-3).

      • No Antichrist or False Prophet: The Antichrist and the False Prophet will have already been thrown into the lake of fire at the time of Christ’s return (Revelation 19:20).

      • Demons: The Bible does not explicitly state that all demons will be in the lake of fire during the Millennium, but the binding of Satan suggests that demonic activity will be significantly restrained if not entirely eliminated.

    • Free Will and Choice:

      • Despite the absence of satanic influence during the Millennium, these individuals will still possess free will and will need to make a personal choice to accept or reject Christ.

      • When Satan is released at the end of the Millennium, those born during this time will be tempted and will need to make a choice to follow Christ or rebel against Him.

9. The Final Rebellion and the Great White Throne Judgment

  • Scriptures: Revelation 20:7-15

  • Event:

    • Final Rebellion: Satan is released, deceives the nations, and is defeated once and for all.

      • Deception and Rebellion: Satan will successfully deceive a large number of people, including those who were born during the Millennium and never faced satanic temptation before.

      • Battle of Gog and Magog: Satan will gather these deceived individuals to march against Jerusalem in a final rebellion.

      • God's Judgment: Fire will come down from heaven and consume the rebellious forces. Satan will then be thrown into the lake of fire, where the Antichrist and False Prophet are, to be tormented forever (Revelation 20:9-10).

    • Great White Throne Judgment: All the dead are judged according to their works, and those not found in the Book of Life are thrown into the lake of fire.

      • Additional Detail: This is also when Jesus will take everyone who is in hell out of hell and place them into the lake of fire, the same lake of fire that God has prepared for the devil and his demons (Revelation 20:14-15).

10. The New Heaven and New Earth

  • Scriptures: Revelation 21-22

  • Event: God creates a new heaven and a new earth. The New Jerusalem descends, and God dwells with His people forever.

Summary of Judgments

  1. Seal Judgments: Revelation 6

  2. Trumpet Judgments: Revelation 8-9

  3. Bowl Judgments: Revelation 16

  4. Judgment of the Nations: Matthew 25:31-46

  5. Judgment Seat of Christ: 2 Corinthians 5:10; Romans 14:10-12; 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 (Occurs after the Rapture and before the Second Coming)

This timeline provides a comprehensive overview of the eschatological events and judgments according to the Bible, including the role of believers returning with Christ during the Battle of Armageddon, the Judgment Seat of Christ, and the Great White Throne Judgment. It also clarifies the misunderstanding regarding the 144,000, explains the Judgment of the Nations, and details the Millennium with its inhabitants and the final rebellion. It includes the rise of the Antichrist, the role of the Holy Spirit in restraining him until after the Rapture, and the spirit of the Antichrist currently at work in the world. Additionally, it addresses the Jewish acceptance of the Antichrist, their eventual recognition of Jesus as the true Messiah, the unholy trinity, the abomination of desolation in the Temple, the sequence and nature of the seal, trumpet, and bowl judgments during the Tribulation, highlighting the increased severity during the Great Tribulation, and the persecution of those who refuse to worship the statue of the Antichrist.

The Bible has a lot to say about the end times. Nearly every book of the Bible contains prophecy regarding the end times. Taking all of these prophecies and organizing them can be difficult. Following is a very brief summary of what the Bible declares will happen in the end times.

The Rapture

Christ will remove all born-again believers from the earth in an event known as the rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51-54). After the rapture, all Christians will stand before Jesus to be judged. (Only for born-again believers because non-believers will not be allowed to enter heaven. They will not participate in the rapture). Read the next passage to find out what type of judgment born-again believers will face.
The Judgement Seat
At the judgment seat of Christ,(The church / born-again believers) these believers will be rewarded for good works and faithful service during their time on earth or will lose rewards, but not eternal life, for lack of service and obedience (1 Corinthians 3:11-15; 2 Corinthians 5:10). Please keep in mind that the Judgement Seat is not for unbelievers. Only Christians will stand before Jesus during this Judgement Seat. We will not be judged for our sins because Jesus Christ already paid the price for our sins, but this Judgment is only for the works we have done as Christians on earth.
The Great White Throne Judgement
The unbelievers and people who have rejected Christ will face another type of judgment call, “The Great White Throne Judgement”. The Great White Throne Judgment will happen after Satan is cast into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. All those in hell will be brought forth, and all the wicked from all eras of history will be resurrected to stand before God in a final judgment (Revelation 20:11–15). The verdicts are read, and all of sinful humanity is cast into the lake of fire; the same lake of fire that is prepared for the devil and his demons. Matthew 25:40-42
The Tribulation
The tribulation will start after the Rapture. When the Church / born-again believers are no longer on the earth, then the Holy Spirit will remove the restraintment from the Antichrist. As of now, the antichrist can not do whatever he wants to because the church is still in this world. The Holy Spirit is restraining him. But after the rapture, the Holy Spirit will remove the restraintment. Then, the Antichrist (the beast) will come into power and will sign a covenant with Israel for seven years (Daniel 9:27). This seven-year period of time is known as the “tribulation.” During the tribulation, there will be terrible wars, famines, plagues, and natural disasters. God will be pouring out His wrath against sin, evil, and wickedness.
The tribulation will include the appearance of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, and the seven seal, trumpet, and bowl judgments.
There will be a scroll that will have seven seals. The Book of Revelation tells us what will happen after The Lamb breaks a seal. The Four Horsemen correspond with the first four seals opened by the Lamb as He opens the scroll of judgment in heaven (see Revelation 5).
Here are some things that will take place or will happen during the Tribulation period. You can click on the Seven Seals, Seven Trumpet, and the Seven Bowl Judgement to read more about it.
Also, you can click What are the seven seals, seven trumpets, and seven bowls in the Book of Revelation to discover how the 7th Seals introduce the Trumpet Judgement, the 7th Trumpet introduces the Bowl Judgments, to read a brief detail of what will happen in the Seal Judgement, Trumpet Judgment, and the Bowl Judgements.

The Great Tribulation
About halfway through the seven years, the Antichrist will break the peace covenant with Israel and make war against it. The Antichrist will commit “the abomination of desolation” and set up an image of himself to be worshiped in the Jerusalem temple (Daniel 9:27; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-10), which will have been rebuilt. The second half of the tribulation is known as “the great tribulation” (Revelation 7:14) and “the time of Jacob’s trouble” (Jeremiah 30:7).
At the end of the seven-year tribulation, the Antichrist will launch a final attack on Jerusalem, culminating in the battle of Armageddon. Jesus Christ will return, destroy the Antichrist and his armies, and cast them into the lake of fire (Revelation 19:11-21). Christ will then bind Satan in the Abyss for 1,000 years and He will rule His earthly kingdom for this thousand-year period (Revelation 20:1-6).
At the end of the thousand years, Satan will be released, defeated again, and then cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:7-10) for eternity. Christ then judges all unbelievers (Revelation 20:10-15) at the great white throne judgment, casting them all into the lake of fire. Christ will then usher in a new heaven and new earth and the New Jerusalem—the eternal dwelling place of believers. There will be no more sin, sorrow, or death (Revelation 21–22).

Here is a quick review of the “end times” timeline or the order in which things are going to happen:

Through the years three main theories have emerged concerning the timing of the Rapture: pretribulationism which is (the belief that the Rapture will occur before the Tribulation begins), midtribulationism which is (the belief that the Rapture will occur at the midpoint of the Tribulation), and posttribulationism which is (the belief that the Rapture will occur at the end of the Tribulation).
Bible Study Review takes a pretribulational approach to eschatology. In other words, Bible Study Review believes-in that the Rapture will happen before the Tribulation begins. I believe that God will not allow the church (born-again believers) to experience his wrath against sin and wickedness. 1 Thessalonians 1:10 in the NLT Bible says, “And they speak of how you are looking forward to the coming of God’s Son from heaven—Jesus, whom God raised from the dead. He is the one who has rescued us from the terrors of the coming judgment.” And 1 Thessalonians 5:9 says, “For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us.” From that perspective, here is the order of end-times events that the Bible reveals:
1. The rapture of the church. Christ comes in the clouds to “snatch away” all those who trust in Him (1 Corinthians 15:52). At this same time, the “dead in Christ” will be resurrected and taken to heaven, too. From our perspective today, this is the next event in the eschatological timeline. The rapture is imminent; no other biblical prophecy needs to be fulfilled before the rapture happens.
2. The rise of the Antichrist. The Antichrist is known as the man of lawlessness according to the Book of 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12. (Click Who is the man of lawlessness in 2 Thessalonians 2:1–12? to read more about it.)
After the church is taken out of the way (2 Thessalonians 2:7–8), a satanically empowered man (man of lawlessness / the Antichrist) will gain worldwide control with promises of peace (Revelation 13:1; Daniel 9:27). He will be aided by another man, called the false prophet, who heads up a religious system that requires worship of the Antichrist (Revelation 19:20).
3. The tribulation. A period of seven years in which God’s judgment is poured out on sinful humanity (Revelation 6–16). The Antichrist’s rise to power is associated with this time period. During the tribulation on earth, the Church will be in heaven. It is thought that at this time the Judgment Seat of Christ and the Marriage Supper of the Lamb will occur in heaven (2 Corinthians 5:10; Revelation 19:6–10).
4. The Battle of Gog and Magog. In the first part of the tribulation, a great army from the north, in alliance with several other countries from the Middle East and Africa, attacks Israel and is defeated by God’s supernatural intervention (Ezekiel 38–39). (Some commentators place this battle just before the start of the tribulation.)
5. The abomination of desolation. At the midway point of the seven-year tribulation, the Antichrist breaks his covenant with Israel and shows his true colors. The Jews are scattered, and many of them turn to the Lord, realizing that Jesus is their Savior. A great persecution breaks out against all those who believe in Christ (Daniel 12:11; Mark 13:14; Revelation 12:17).
6. The Battle of Armageddon. At the end of the tribulation, Jesus returns with the armies of heaven (Mark 14:62). He saves Jerusalem from annihilation and defeats the armies of the nations fighting under the banner of the Antichrist (Revelation 19:11–21). The Antichrist and the false prophet are captured and thrown alive into the lake of fire (Revelation 19:20).
7. The judgment of the nations. Christ will judge the survivors of the tribulation, separating the righteous from the wicked as “sheep” and “goats” (Matthew 25:31–46). (It is thought that at this time the Old Testament saints will be raised from the dead.) The righteous will enter the Millennial Kingdom; the wicked will be cast into hell.
8. The binding of Satan. Satan will be bound and held in a bottomless pit for the next 1,000 years (Revelation 20:1–3).
9. The Millennial Kingdom. Jesus Himself will rule the world, and Jerusalem will be the capital. This will be a 1,000-year period of peace and prosperity on earth (Revelation 20; Isaiah 60–62). Memorial sacrifices will be offered in a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem (Ezekiel 40–48). Click Who will occupy the Millennial Kingdom? to read more about it.
10. The last battle. At the end of the 1,000 years, Satan will be released from his prison for a short time. He will deceive the nations once again, and there will be a rebellion against the Lord that will be quickly defeated (Revelation 20:7–10). Satan will be cast into the lake of fire, never to reappear.
11. The Great White Throne Judgment. All those in hell will be brought forth, and all the wicked from all eras of history will be resurrected to stand before God in a final judgment (Revelation 20:11–15). The verdicts are read, and all of sinful humanity is cast into the lake of fire.
12. The new creation. God completely remakes the heavens and the earth. It is at this time that God wipes away all tears and there will be no more pain, death, or sorrow. The New Jerusalem descends from heaven, and the children of God will enjoy eternity with Him (Revelation 21–22).

Question(s):
Question #1: Will the church(born-again believers) go through the tribulation period?
Answer: No, Jesus will come back to take the church (born-again believers out of this world before the tribulation period starts. Some people might believe that God will allow the born-again believer to go through the tribulation period, but that is an error in their teaching/doctrine.
Question #2: Will people be able to get saved after the rapture?
Answer: Yes! But it’s not going to be easy because the antichrist is going to be killing people and setting up a system for people to worship him. People won’t be able to buy or sell anything unless they receive the mark of the breast. He is going to kill anyone who doesn’t worship the statue of him. Whoever receives the mark of the breast will not be able to be saved. The “great tribulation” will be known as the more intense second half of the 7-year period. No more vision, no more prophecy. (Notes: 144,000 Jews will be sealed by the Holy Spirit and will be protected from the antichrist. Perhaps 12,000 Jews from each tribe will be selected. The Jew’s mission during this time will be to proclaim Jesus Christ. People will still have a chance to be saved because the Bible mentions the tribulation’s saints. The tribulation saints are those who died during the tribulation for their faith in Jesus.
Keep in mind that at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, there will be two sets of people who survived the tribulation. One will be the saved, the ones who place their faith in Jesus. The other one will be the unsaved who have not placed their faith in Jesus. When Jesus returns (The Second Coming) Jesus will separate the sheep from the goats. The sheep are those who were saved during the tribulation; the goats are the unsaved who survived the tribulation. You can read about this separation in the Book of Matthew 25:31-46. And, you can click What is the meaning of the Parable of the Sheep and Goats to read more about this separation.
Question #3: Is the Rapture the same as the Second Coming of Jesus?
Answer: No! The Second Coming of Jesus is not the rapture. The rapture is when Jesus comes back for the church. Jesus will stop in mid-air to take us away. The second coming of Jesus is when he comes all the way to earth to put an end to the antichrist and to end the tribulation period. The Bible seems to indicate that the exact location of Jesus’ second coming will be the Mount of Olives.
Question #4: What is the Millennial Period?
Answer: The Millennial Period is when Jesus will reign on earth for 1,000 years. The 1,000-years reign will start after the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Jesus will put an end to the tribulation. Jesus will take the antichrist, and the false prophets and cast them into the lake of fire. There will be peace on earth for 1,000 years. There will be no temptation during this time. The antichrist and the false prophet will be locked away forever in the lake of fire, and the devil (Satan) will be in prison in the bottomless pit for 1,000 years.
You can click What is the bottomless pit (Revelation 9:1-12)? to read more about it.
You can click What is the Millennial Kingdom, and should it be understood literally? to read more about it.
Question #5: Who will be with Jesus on earth during the Millennial Period?
Answer: There will be two types of groups of people. Those with their glorified bodies and those remaining believers with their earthly bodies. (Note that no non-believers will be on earth during this time because they will already be thrown into the lake of fire where God has prepared for the devil). Those with their glorified bodies are the church and the tribulations saints. All other people will be in their earthly bodies. They will continue to reproduce, etc., but those with their glorified bodies will not reproduce and will not marry. The ones that are still in their earthly bodies will have kids, but their kids will have a choice to follow Jesus and place their faith in Jesus. Unfortunately, many of their children will reject Jesus Christ even though Jesus will be living on earth among them.
When the millennial period ends, then God will let the devil lose for a short period. The devil will lead all those who did not place their faith in Jesus to rebel against God’s people. They will surround God’s people in the city that God loves, and then God will send fire to devour them. Then, God cast the devil into the lake of fire, and all people who rejected Jesus Christ and all unbelievers will be in the lake of fire too. Sin will finally be over. No more sin.
