40 years after Jesus was crucified

The Jewish-Roman War began in the year 66 CE during the twelfth year of the reign of Nero because of the Roman and Jewish religious tensions. Next, the crisis escalated because of " anti-taxation protests" and attacks upon Roman citizens by the Jews. So, the Roman governor, Gessius Florus, responded by raiding or looting the Second Temple. Gessius Florus claimed the money was for the Emperor, and the next day they launched a raid on the city, arresting numerous senior Jewish figures. The Jewish decided to rebel on a large scale and overrun the Roman military garrison of Judaea. After a long battle, the Romans finally succeeded in breaching the defenses of the weakened Jewish forces in the summer of 70. Titus departed for Rome and left the " Legion X Fretensis” to defeat the remaining Jewish Stronghold, including Herodium and Machaerus. Finally, the last battle, " Siege of Masada" (73 to 74 CE).
