IN THIS LESSON: The Book of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy (These are the book of Law). The Pentateuch- refers to the first five books of the Bible. These books are also referred to as the Torah (instruction) or the Law of Moses or the Mosaic Law.

  • The book of beginning
  • The first 3 days, HE created spaces for things. Day 4,5&6, HE put things into those spaces. 
For instance: On day 1, HE said “let there be light” but there was no light, then HE came back on Day 4 and put lights in those spaces. The greater light we call the sun to governed the day, and the lesser light we call the moon to governed the night
On day 2, The Bible says that HE separated the waters from  one another. The waters above we call clouds, and the waters below we call oceans and seas. But, there were nothing in the clouds nor the oceans. HE came back on day 5 and put birds and etc in the upper-waters, and the fishes and etc in the lower-waters
On day 3, HE creates the land, but there were nothing in the land. But he came back on day 6 HE put things on the land. (animals and also creates man)
  • Man rebelled against God by eating of the forbidden fruit introducing sin and death into the human race.

As a result, the fruit of sin was created (blame, shame, guilt, separation, fear, self-atonement, etc)

And the Lord God made clothing from animals skins for Adam and his wife. Gen 3:21

Book of Exodus
  • 400 years of bondage
  • Moses (Ex.3 ) He led God’s people into the land originally “promised” to Abraham. 
The book of Exodus contains three very important incidents.

  • #2 The giving of the law
  • #3 Building the Tabernacle
Book of Leviticus
God had gotten the people out of Egypt, but now needed to get the Egypt out of the people. He gave them 613 laws to obey!
Leviticus demonstrates man’s desperate need for a savior
Book of Numbers
Number chronicles their journey as they wandered in the wilderness for 40 years until everyone but Joshua and Caleb died. why? 
  1. Disobedience
  2. Lack of faith
  3. Complaining
Book of Deuteronomy
Deuteronomy means “2nd law” because Moses had to communicate the law to this younger generation a second time before entering into the Promised Land.”
